Air Panel & Rail Jigs
Air panel and rail jigs for shaper-based cabinet door and pattern work. These pneumatic jigs support smooth movement and repeatable stock control for panel and rail cuts.
How Air Panel & Rail Jigs Are Used
| Use Case | What the Jig Helps With | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Panel and rail door work | Supports controlled movement of stock during shaping operations. | Cabinet door production and repeatable panel-and-rail workflows. |
| Pattern-specific door styles | Matches the stock to the pattern style being produced. | Crown, oval, classical, neoclassic, French, and related pattern configurations. |
| Repeatable production cutting | Helps keep stock handling more consistent from part to part. | Shops producing matching rails and panel parts. |
| Pneumatic jig workflows | Uses air-assisted movement and stock control during the cut. | Woodworking setups using compressed air with shaper jigs. |
Steps for using an Air Jig.
Choosing the correct air panel and rail jig starts with knowing if the stock will fit in the jig. This page’s jig options are organized around pattern types such as crown, oval, classical, neoclassic, and French-style configurations.
The next thing to determine is what size of collar you need to follow the pattern that will work with your cutter. You can call or email Weaver to help you determine that.
After, put your stock in the jig with the pattern, and trace off the pattern onto the stock with a pencil. Then, band saw the excess material off, leaving approximately 1/8th an inch or so to be shaped by the shaper.
VERSATILITY / PRODUCTIVITY / EFFICIENCY
Air Jigs encompasses several productivity improving features. The built-in centering device centers arched rail and panel parts with a turn of a wheel on the top of the jig. Parts are held firmly by two air cylinders which exert force on a neoprene rubber covered pressure bar. The Air Jig's versatility enables you to make custom door designs by the fabrication of templates of your own design out of plexiglass or 1⁄4” hardboard. The adjustable brakes on each edge of the fixture stop the ball bearing from spinning and burning the template.
Air Panel & Rail Jig FAQ
What is an air panel and rail jig?
An air panel and rail jig is a pneumatic shaper jig used to support smooth, controlled stock movement during panel and rail pattern work.
What is this collection used for?
This collection is used for panel and rail woodworking operations, especially cabinet door and pattern work using an air-assisted jig setup.
How do I choose the correct jig option?
Make sure the stock fits in the jig and the curve of the stock does not extend beyond the bottom plate so much that the stock is bouncing when being cut.
Do these jigs require compressed air?
Yes. These are air jigs, so they are intended for pneumatic woodworking setups that use compressed air.
